I am a real hockey fan and was excited to attend an NHL game at the Garden.
I was let down. Despite a crowd of over 17000, there was no atmosphere or cheers (except for the one intoxicated guy yelling, '...you have any beer- no, then get outa' here..' at snack vendors).
I missed the show before the game, cheerleaders during breaks, and the post-game ceremony where the top players are honored and the team thanks the fans in all directions.
The complete lack of fan chants, drums, and cheers was particularly unexpected.
